Two paths. Two different ways information is handled.
Build Path treats resident preparation tools and professional-interest submissions differently.
Start with the path that matches how you use the site.
For residents
Your project notes usually stay on your device
StepCheck, your Summary, Project Hub notes, and Who May Help choices are preparation tools.
Answers you type are usually saved in your browser on the device you are using — not in a Build Path resident account.
There is no resident account, public profile, or directory listing in this release.
Build Path cannot see, change, or delete information that remains only on your device.
If you have not submitted a form to Build Path, an unsubmitted device-local draft stays with you.
You can clear or replace local answers in the tool itself when a “Start fresh” or similar clear control is available, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Ordinary website hosting may still create standard technical logs needed to deliver pages.
Build Path does not run a separate analytics or advertising pixel package on these public pages.
Contact the Privacy Officer if you have a question about how this page applies to you, or if you believe Build Path holds information about you from a form you submitted.
For professionals
Interest, invited accounts, and draft confirmation
A draft saved in your browser is different from a submitted form.
Only when you submit the professional-interest form on the hosted site does Build Path receive that submission.
Submissions go through Netlify Forms under the form name professional-intake.
That can include contact details, role and trade information, service area, project-fit preferences, optional notes, and optional referral details you choose to share.
Business email at hello@buildpath.ca is used for privacy requests and other contact. If form notifications are enabled, a submission notice may also arrive there.
Build Path may keep limited operational copies — such as an export or internal follow-up note — to review interest or answer a privacy request.
Invited professional accounts (when turned on after review):
Build Path uses invite-only access. There is no open public registration for professionals.
An invited professional may set a password and sign in with business email and password to review a private draft, choose public contact preferences, and accept required agreements.
Optional text (SMS) or email confirmation codes may be used only for higher-sensitivity steps — not for every ordinary action — and only if you provide a mobile number and consent to texts for that purpose.
Documents: When document checks are used, items such as licence or insurance evidence are treated as private business records for review.
They are not published as downloadable public files. Routine onboarding does not ask for government identification by ordinary email upload.
Professional-interest submissions use 12 months as a review date, not a hard automatic expiry.
Near the end of that period (at about 11 months), Build Path manually sends a review notice when practical.
Extending retention does not renew a licence, insurance, WSIB status, document, or verification expiry.
You can ask for access, correction, or deletion.
Because Netlify form submissions are not editable in place, a correction means deleting the incorrect submission and inviting a corrected resubmission.
Deletion covers the matching Netlify submission, related notification email copies, exports, and internal follow-up notes for that submission.
Account and document records created after an invite follow the same privacy-request route below.
Option A interest alone does not create a public professional account, publish a directory listing, open live resident–professional contact, collect government identification, offer paid or status tiers, or activate Build Path Teams.
An invited professional account is created only when Build Path sends a secure invite and the professional completes password setup and draft confirmation.
Build Path does not claim it independently collects professional information from public sources for the interest path.
Why information is used
To help residents prepare questions, summaries, and project details on their own device.
To receive and review professional interest so Build Path can understand who may want to participate later.
To operate invite-only professional accounts (password sign-in), private draft confirmation, and optional step-up confirmation by SMS or email when those features are active for you.
To review private business documents you provide for listing readiness checks.
To respond to professional interest and privacy requests.
To operate and secure the hosted site and its form service.
Submitting professional interest does not by itself publish a profile or guarantee leads, invitations, placement, directory visibility, or a response time.
An authenticated professional account is created only when Build Path invites you and you complete the secure setup steps.
Service providers and where information may be stored
Your device / browser — resident preparation answers and many unsubmitted drafts.
Netlify — hosts the static site and receives Netlify Forms submissions when you submit a supported form on the hosted site.
Build Path business email (hello@buildpath.ca) — privacy requests and other contact; may also receive form notices if enabled.
Supabase (when invited accounts are live) — authentication and related account database hosting for invited professionals (Canada-oriented project settings when configured).
SMS provider (when text codes are live) — for example Twilio or another approved provider, only if you consent to SMS step-up codes. Provider name will be confirmed in this notice before SMS goes live.
Invite-only professional password sign-in may be active for professionals Build Path has invited.
Optional SMS step-up codes are not live yet; when they are, the SMS provider name will be confirmed in this notice first.
Interest-only Option A continues to use Netlify Forms without creating an account by itself.
Sharing and disclosure
Build Path uses the processors above to host the site, receive forms, and communicate with you.
Professional-interest submissions are not published to a resident directory in this release.
Build Path may disclose information when required by law, to protect people from serious harm, or to investigate suspected misuse of the site.
Build Path does not sell personal information.
This page does not claim that information is never shared under any circumstance.
Sharing is limited to operating the service, responding to you, and meeting legal or safety obligations.
Retention and review
Professional-interest submissions use 12 months as a review date.
Near about 11 months, Build Path manually sends a review notice when practical.
You may renew, update, or ask for deletion.
If there is no response within the 30-day notice period, Build Path deletes the matching submission from Netlify, matching notification email copies, exports, and internal follow-up notes connected to that submission.
This release is manual. Build Path does not claim automated renewal, expiry, reminder, or deletion notices.
You may request earlier deletion at any time using the contact route below.
Build Path cannot delete a draft that exists only on your device.
Access, correction, and deletion
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information Build Path holds about a submission, email
hello@buildpath.ca
with the subject line Privacy Request.
Acknowledgement aim: within 7 calendar days.
Completion aim: within 30 calendar days, subject only to lawful extensions. If an extension is needed and permitted, Build Path will notify you within the original period.
Identity confirmation is limited. For current interest-only intake, write from the email used in the submission and confirm your name and business or operating name when asked. If you write from a different email, Build Path may ask only for limited details needed to match the submission.
Do not send government identification by ordinary email. Current interest intake does not collect government ID.
Access means a clear copy of the information Build Path holds about the matched submission.
After completing a privacy request, Build Path may keep a minimal compliance record for 24 months
(request reference, dates, request type, identity-confirmation method, systems checked, and completion date).
That record is not used to store form answers, ID documents, or project details.
Safeguards
Build Path uses ordinary hosting and form-service controls, limits who may access professional-interest inboxes and exports,
and keeps sensitive readiness values out of the current professional-interest form post where the site is designed to do so.
No website can promise perfect security.
This page does not claim certification, guaranteed security, or legal compliance.
Practical care is used; residual risk remains.
